Krimp treedt op omdat de<br \/>\nde dichtheid van polymeer varieert van de verwerkingstemperatuur tot de omgevingstemperatuur<br \/>\n(zie Specifiek volume (pvT-diagram)). Tijdens het spuitgieten cre\u00ebert de variatie in krimp zowel globaal als doorheen de doorsnede van een onderdeel interne spanningen. Deze zogenaamde restspanningen (zie Restspanning) werken op een onderdeel met effecten die vergelijkbaar zijn met extern aangebrachte spanningen. Als de restspanningen tijdens het gieten hoog zijn<br \/>\ngenoeg is om de structurele integriteit van het onderdeel te overwinnen, zal het onderdeel kromtrekken bij uitwerpen<br \/>\nuit de mal of barst bij externe bedrijfsbelasting.<\/p>\n<h2>Krimp<\/h2>\n<p>De krimp van gegoten kunststof onderdelen kan oplopen tot 20 volumeprocent, gemeten bij de verwerkingstemperatuur en de omgevingstemperatuur. Kristallijne en half-kristallijne materialen zijn bijzonder gevoelig voor thermische krimp; amorfe materialen krimpen doorgaans minder. Wanneer kristallijne materialen worden afgekoeld tot onder hun overgangstemperatuur, ordenen de moleculen zich op een meer ordelijke manier en vormen kristallieten. Aan de andere kant verandert de microstructuur van amorfe materialen niet met de faseverandering. Dit verschil leidt ertoe dat kristallijne en half-kristallijne materialen een groter verschil in specifiek volume ( ) hebben tussen hun smeltfase en vaste (kristallijne) fase. Dit wordt ge\u00efllustreerd in Figuur 1 hieronder. We willen erop wijzen dat de koelsnelheid ook van invloed is op het snel afkoelende pvT-gedrag van kristallijne en half-kristallijne materialen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1336\" style=\"width: 642px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1336\" class=\"wp-image-1336 size-full\" title=\"Krimp en vervorming\" src=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20141001102803im_\/http:\/\/www.moldchina.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Shrinkage-and-warpage.gif\" alt=\"Krimp en vervorming\" width=\"632\" height=\"404\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1336\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">nieuw<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>FIGUUR 1.<\/strong>\u00a0De pvT-curven voor amorfe en kristallijne polymeren en de variatie in specifiek volume tussen de verwerkingstoestand (punt A) en de toestand bij kamertemperatuur en atmosferische druk (punt B). Merk op dat het specifieke volume afneemt als de druk toeneemt.<\/p>\n<h3>Oorzaken van overmatige onderdeelkrimp<\/h3>\n<p>Overmatige krimp, boven het aanvaardbare niveau, kan worden veroorzaakt door de volgende factoren. De relatie tussen krimp en verschillende bewerkingsparameters en de dikte van het onderdeel is schematisch weergegeven in Figuur 2.<\/p>\n<p>- lage injectiedruk<br \/>\n- korte verpakkingstijd of koeltijd<br \/>\n- hoge smelttemperatuur<br \/>\n- hoge matrijstemperatuur<br \/>\n- lage houddruk.<\/p>\n<h3>Problemen veroorzaakt door krimp van onderdelen<\/h3>\n<p>Niet-gecompenseerde volumetrische krimp leidt tot zinksporen of holtes in het binnenwerk van de matrijs. Beheersing van de werkstukkrimp is belangrijk bij het ontwerp van werkstukken, matrijzen en processen, vooral bij toepassingen die nauwe toleranties vereisen. Krimp die leidt tot zinksporen of holtes kan verminderd of ge\u00eblimineerd worden door de holte in te pakken na het vullen. Het matrijsontwerp moet ook rekening houden met krimp om aan de afmetingen van het onderdeel te voldoen.
